Dockerizing ASP.NET 5 Applications webinar with Anthony Sneed

ASP.NET 5 is Microsoft’s next-generation platform for developing cloud-friendly, cross-platform web applications and services. It was re-written from the ground up to provide the level of isolation and scalability required by modern, cloud-based applications, and it can run on non-Microsoft platforms, such as Mac OS X and Linux. Docker automates the deployment of applications inside software containers, which provide an isolated unit of deployment without the overhead of virtual machines. In this webinar, Tony explains how you can “dockerize” an ASP.NET 5 application in order to implement a microservices architecture, with small, highly decoupled services that are composable, resilient and can be scaled independently.

TypeScript to Future Proof Enterprise JavaScript Apps at Scale Webinar with Jeremy Likness

There is no denying the trend to deliver critical business apps through the browser using Single Page Application frameworks that rely heavily on JavaScript. Traditionally frowned upon as a loosely typed language not fit for large scale development or teams, JavaScript is rapidly evolving with the latest ECMAScript 2015 and 6 specifications. TypeScript is a technology that can help teams future proof their applications and build them at scale. By serving as a superset of JavaScript and enabling definition files to describe existing JavaScript libraries, TypeScript can be integrated seamlessly into existing projects. It provides syntax that aligns with the current specifications and will compile to various versions of JavaScript and leverage different libraries that provide module support. Learn how TypeScript improves the development experience by providing development and compile-time checks, type safety, interfaces, true class inheritance, and other features that accelerate delivery and improve the quality and stability of Single Page Applications.

Using Visual Code with TypeScript with Anthony Sneed

Visual Studio Code is a lightweight cross-platform code editor from Microsoft that provides rich development capabilities, such as intellisense, debugging, code completion, navigation and refactoring, but without the overhead of a full-featured IDE like Visual Studio 2015. It’s an ideal tool for building JavaScript applications and has first-class support for TypeScript, a superset of JavaScript that adds static typing and object-oriented constructs such as classes and interfaces. In this webinar, Anthony Sneed will provide practical suggestions and concrete examples for building TypeScript libraries using Visual Studio Code, including how to automatically compile TypeScript to ECMAScript 5 whenever a file is changed, how to perform unit testing with Jasmine and Karma, and how to generate source maps so you can set breakpoints and debug your TypeScript code.

Cross-platform ASP.NET 5 for the cloud webinar with Anthony Sneed

In this Cross-platform ASP.NET 5 for the cloud webinar, Anthony Sneed will go beyond the marketing lingo and “fluff” often used to describe cloud-based computing, and instead provide practical guidance with hands-on examples for “dockerising” an ASP.NET 5 application so that you can easily build a container that provides an isolated but lightweight deployment vehicle for your web app.
